Your day begins with a comfortable pick-up from your hotel or meeting point in Moshi. Remember to pack comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a camera, and a water bottle.
Upon arrival in Materuni Village, located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, you’ll meet your local guide. Your adventure starts with a visit to a local coffee plantation. Here, you’ll get a fascinating insight into the coffee-making process, from harvesting to roasting and grinding. The best part? You’ll enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee, straight from the source!
Next, we’ll begin our scenic hike to Materuni Waterfalls. This moderately challenging trail takes you through lush rainforest, where you’ll discover local flora and perhaps spot some wildlife. Reaching the stunning 80-meter high falls is a reward in itself. Take photos, admire the cascade, and if you wish, take a refreshing dip in the natural pool.
Afterwards, enjoy a picnic lunch near the waterfall, soaking in the natural beauty. We’ll then hike back to Materuni Village, where you’ll have some time to further explore and interact with the friendly Chagga people, learning more about their daily life and traditions.
