Ruaha River Lodge

Ruaha River Lodge is a classic safari lodge located on the banks of the Great Ruaha River deep inside Ruaha National Park in southern Tanzania, offering one of the most authentic bush experiences in the country. The lodge features 24 spacious stone and thatch chalets (bandas) set along the riverbank, each with a private veranda overlooking the water where elephants, hippos, giraffes and other wildlife often come to drink right in front of you.

Designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape, the bandas have comfortable interiors with en-suite bathrooms, and solar-heated hot water, and the lodge’s relaxed, welcoming atmosphere emphasizes immersion in nature rather than ultra-luxury.
